The 2015 “Indiana State Nursing Home & Assisted Living Games” took place on Wednesday, June 17th in Chandler, Indiana. We had ten residents participate in this annual community event. Participants from our facility included: Sue Burke, Mary White, Edna Keller, Amy Young, Maxine Porter, Patricia Woolen, Dorothy Amos, Patricia Hamilton, Helen Sparks, and Christine Alvey.
Our residents competed against other residents from various Warrick County health care facilities in events such as washers, ball toss, bean bag toss, fishing, ring toss, and wheelchair races.
The highlight of the Senior Games is always the wheelchair races!
Five of our residents were able to bring home medals this year! The winners from Newburgh Healthcare are as follows:
Edna Keller: Placed 3rd in Women’s Wheelchair Race (Heat 1)
Helen “Sparky” Sparks: Placed 3rd in Women’s Wheelchair Race (Heat 2)
Patricia Woolen: Placed 3rd in Women’s Washer Toss
Amy Young: Placed 3rd in Women’s Ring Toss
