Veteran’s Day 2018

In honor of the Veterans Day holiday, the Activity Department held a “Veterans Day Party” on Thursday, November 8th.

At the time of the event, Newburgh Healthcare had eleven veterans at the facility!  Our veterans were seated together at the party and were served refreshments.  Musician Tari Martin provided music entertainment, singing patriotic songs for the event.  The Activity staff presented our veterans with a “Veterans Day” pin as as a gift of appreciation for their service.

On Friday, November 9th, Chris Weyer, the Community Education Representative with Heart to Heart Hospice visited all of the veterans at the facility one-on-one to present them with certificates honoring their services and to conduct a pinning ceremony.  He also provided our veterans with cupcakes from Donut Bank!

Later in the day, volunteers from the Newburgh American Legion Auxiliary also visited our veterans one-on-one in their rooms to provide them with balloons and poppies, thanking them for their service!

We would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice, the Newburgh American Legion Auxiliary, and Tari Martin for making our veterans feel extra special this holiday!
