The Activity Department themed event held during the month of June was the “Outer Space Party with DM Karaoke.” Activity staff dressed in costumes which were in theme with the event. Karaoke singers Corey Mockabee and Tony Baxton provided our residents with lively entertainment for the party.

Throughout the month of June our residents worked on various arts & crafts projects which were to be used during the party to create the “Outer Space” atmosphere. In one such project, the residents expressed themselves artistically by making space ships with paint and sequins. The space ships were used as center pieces for the tables at the party.

Our residents also crafted rocket ships, which were hung from the ceiling as part of the “Outer Space” decorations. During the craft groups our residents also made space alien photo props, which were given to each resident to be used for the party.
During the party, “Outer Space” themed refreshments of rocket popsicles were served and our residents enjoyed taking pictures with the staff while listening to the live entertainment.

Several of the young relatives of our entertainment guests even provided us with a performance! The residents thoroughly enjoyed this surprise!
