Mardi Gras Party 2018

The Activity Department at Newburgh Healthcare celebrated Mardi Gras on Tuesday, February 13th by making pancakes for our residents (a Fat Tuesday tradition), but the big celebration was held on February 27, 2018 when entertainment was provided by DM Karaoke.

During our party, residents were served traditional Mardi Gras King’s Cake from Donut Bank.  As is tradition, a baby was hidden in one of our resident’s cakes.

JoAnn (pictured right) was our lucky resident who ended up with the baby this year.  That means she buys us all king’s cake in 2019!

Several of our residents made their own masks for the party during February craft activities.  All residents who were in attendance were given Mardi Gras beads to wear and keep after the party.   Residents who did not make their own masks were given store-bought masks to wear for photo ops!

We would like to thank all staff who assisted with this event!
