Grease Party 2018

April 2018 marked the 40th anniversary of the premier of the musical “Grease,” an American cult classic that starred Olivia Newton John and John Travolta.  So it was only fitting that Newburgh Healthcare’s themed event of the month be a “Grease” party! The Activity Department & other staff & volunteers dressed up as members of the Grease cast. Pictured above, from left to right, characters included: Jan, Frenchy, Danny, Rizzo, Kenickie, Sandy, Danny (the jock version) and Eugene.

The Dining Room was decorated half in the theme of the “Rydell High” prom, and half in the theme of the famous diner, “The Frosty Palace.”

The residents made cat eye glasses to wear for the party during a craft activity in April.

The Activity Department served our resident made-to-order ice cream sundaes!

Singers Corey Mockabee and Tony Baxton from D&M Karaoke provided our residents with live music entertainment.  Owner Bruce Baker even got in on the karaoke fun!  Activity Assistant Gabe Ramsey (Frenchy) sang a duet from Grease with Tony with the rest of the Pink Ladies and T-Birds backing her up!

Residents had a blast dancing with our staff and watching the staff dance to scenes projected from the movie!

We would like to thank all staff & volunteers who assisted with this event!
