Highlights of December 2011

Main Street United Methodist Church Hand Bell Choir

During the month of December we had many volunteers from the community visiting our facility to provide Christmas programs for our residents.  This included a recital from the Boonville Main Street United Methodist Hand Bell Choir, who performed for our residents on December 13th, 2011.

We also hosted two children’s holiday piano recitals, one of which were the students of piano instructor Dana Cook who gave their recitals on December 15, 2011.

Various community organizations also provided caroling in the halls, handed out Christmas gifts and cards to our residents while visiting with them one-on-one, and donated gifts for our annual Christmas party.

Volunteers Sandy and Oliver Faver

Long time volunteer Sandy Faver and her little dog Oliver provided residents with Pet Therapy visits.  Oliver dressed like Santa to spread some holiday cheer!

Students from the Evansville Lutheran School

Students from the Evansville Lutheran School conducted a Christmas Program for our residents on December 9th, 2011.  During part of this program, students sang traditional carols to residents;  during the other half of the program students gave an orchestral performance.  The Evansville Lutheran School has visited our facility for many years and always impresses us with their holiday programs.

We would like to thank all members of the community for visiting our residents during the holiday season.  We would also like to thank all of our staff who worked extra hard over the holidays getting residents to Christmas programs, assisting with holiday programs, and for preparing residents for their annual Christmas portraits.  With your help our residents had a very Merry Christmas!
